NATALIE TOREN, Costume Designer - If I could pick one person I’d want telling people about our movie, Natalie would fit the bill. Her passion is contagious, genuine, and inspiring. When Justin, Jason and I set out to make movies, we hoped we could start building a movie family, people we’d want to work with again and again. Natalie is the epitome of that idea, yes, because of her talents, but also because of how she bought in to what we were doing. She jumped in with both feet and gave her heart and soul to this movie. I will never forget the work she did and how she helped make the movie click.

When I met Natalie, I knew she had style, I knew she’d be able to dress our cast, what I didn’t know was how intuitive she is and how she’d take the story and my ideas and use her eye and her talent to fashion a “look” overall for the movie and for each character. (I’ll have more after Jazzi below)

JAZZI McGILBERT, Key Costumer - Jazzi showed up for production a few days after Natalie and I noticed one thing about her right off: confidence. She has an aura of knowledge and experience and when I found out how young she is I was truly stunned. But not really, because what she also has is this sense of fresh, new, vibrancy… Natalie gushes about Jazzi and I feel so fortunate to have had her in St. George with us.

OK - Here’s a little more about them collectively: I told Natalie that I couldn’t conceive of how they made it happen, but I’d look up and our actors would walk on to set looking like their characters. What Natalie and Jazzi did is nothing short of remarkable. Ben Banks (the movie) is going to have a really cool look (of course also because of how it’s shot and the production design) because of the look of each character and how it carries through the movie AND how they fit together as ‘one’ - it’s hard for someone like me who knows next to nothing about the fashion world to put into words what they did, but all I can say is that they’re artists and I loved working with them. And would do it again in a heartbeat.
