ANGEL PRADO, Hair and Makeup Supervisor - I met Angel on this shoot and am so thankful that he agreed to work on our movie! He’s another who is wise beyond his years. He is such a pro that he instills a great sense of confidence and when I’d see him working on someone, or coming on to set, I wouldn’t think twice about it because I knew he’d get it right. He also has a subtle sense of humor that you have to pay very close attention to get! He’s great.

And he made our cast feel taken care of and protected in terms of being on screen. I will never forget when he pulled off a huge hair and makeup change in the garage of one of our location homes - we all stood around him Fight Club style as he worked his magic! What he did there was truly remarkable - on our budget and short schedule it was imperative that he get this one right and Angel had about 20 minutes to do what would normally be a few hours - his instincts took over and I listened very carefully when he told me in his quiet voice his opinion about one of the potential finishing touches (remember Angel?). And, of course, he was right!!! I love Angel and hope our paths cross again!

MARIEL DUENAS, Hair Stylist and Assistant Makeup Artist - Mariel is an Angel! So, of course, she works well with Angel Prado!!! OK, it’s late, allow me my play on words! Seriously, she is such a great person, and also very talented. She was another who I came to trust implicitly. She had a few interesting “St. George” experiences but handled it all with class and professionalism. I know how lucky we were to have her!

A final note on hair, makeup, and costume: It’s hard to overestimate the impact Angel and Mariel had on the production. They made a huge difference and when I think of the two of them and Natalie and Jazzi, it makes me smile. What an amazing team we had. Such a great blessing for a first time director to have confidence in but also feel like true artists are on set, contributing and making the movie better. So important… and so appreciated!

Also, my wife, Stephanie, and three of my kids - Spenser, Madison, and Parker all had small roles in the movie. I’ll never forget how Natalie, Jazzi, Angel and Mariel all made them feel welcome and comfortable as they helped them get ready. It meant a lot to Steph and I.
